I'm taking a 2-year class on becoming a spiritual director. As part of it we've been directed to pray as St. Ignatius taught the Examen, and to pray on Scripture nightly, to discern God's direction for us, so we might better discern the direction He is speaking to others. I've taken to examining my day in two piles: God Opportunities, things and events I had no control over which entered my day, and My Opportunities, things I controlled about my day. I consider the events of each, and how well I used those opportunities in ways He might consider a good use of my talents, or a good hearing and doing of His will. I do give thanks at the start of my Examen, but I think this reminder will give me renewed impetus to treat that beginning more seriously.Do Not Be Anxioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04607616214486933423noreply@blogger.com
