I was praying/desiring a Samuel. Someone to teach me to recognize God's voice when He is calling, what to say in reply and how to listen and receive what He says to me....and I found your post. How amazing is the loving tenderness of God who understands the desires of our hearts and knows how to satisfy them! God bless you father for your service to our loving God.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00589546013043733338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5397690736097672103.post-82213421532280298302015-01-26T10:17:35.716-06:002015-01-26T10:17:35.716-06:00Thank you Fr. Even in the quiet and solitude of living alone, my mind can dart to and fro and block my ears so listening doesn't happen!Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10932583644566873808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5397690736097672103.post-49925529456337774502015-01-18T20:36:16.027-06:002015-01-18T20:36:16.027-06:00Fr. Jim, this is so powerful! Your opening story ...Fr. Jim, this is so powerful! Your opening story could have been me! Life is far too busy and I've allowed myself to shut God out, I'm afraid, not slowing down enough to listen to what He might be trying to tell me, but instead just running full steam ahead worrying about myself and my problems. Today, for the first time in a long time, I just sat in the quiet church after Mass, offering some words of prayer, but enjoying the simple act of "looking at the Lord and letting Him look at me." It felt so good-refreshing! I'd forgotten!Anne Benderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04795710781396825094noreply@blogger.com
