It was said that Mary told visionaries there that they should strive to pray 4 hours per day. I laughed when I heard that. But I didn't forget it. It took me years to really know what prayer was, a conversation with God, and to practice it. The quote from Fr. Ciszek above notes that we can't "go around abstracted all day, thinking only of God and ignoring our duties to those around us, to family and friends." I think I've come to appreciate that it isn't God vs family and friends, rather my life centers around God AND family and friends --- he is just as real to me as they are, and just as constantly present.<br /><br />Pray to him 4 hours per day? How often do I converse with them? It seems like they are all readily present, all the day long.
